TEENVOGUE UNDER FIRE?
Models Jourdan Dunn (to the left) and Chanel Iman are grazing Teen Vogue's November cover. As news has it ms Dunn is pregnant, and apparently due in December, her humble age of 19 years place her in the group of teenage mums.
Teen Vogue's have a huge influence on their readership,by putting Jourdan, even though the didn't knew she was pregnant when the shoot took place, will probably cause an outrage among the reader's parents.

SEQUIN ME HIGH
The last few days I been watching Michael Jackson's Dangerous tour on dvd before I go off to bed and when I get up in the morning. Except for that his performance is great according to dance and and voice his fashion sense trickled down to me, or it really did a lot earlier when I first bought my sequin jacket.
Wearing it twice before sequins wore me out I thought that today was a good day to wear it.
Back to Michael, who had kind of a love affair with sequins and everything glitzy and glammy.

Remember those pants that he always wore? A little bit too short so that one could see his sequined (surprise!) socks and how he moved his feets? Well, they are kind of featured in the Longchamp ad above.

THOSE DANCING DAYS
You know there's those dresses that doesn't seem to flee from memory and end up in forgotten garments world, where they are just forgotten for the rest of their lives which will be a long one cause the rottenness process of a garment is not exactly over in a few years and no one will burn them cause the can't be asked to bother. Scary thoughts, but my point is that some apparell wont just fade from the memory.
Donatella Versace's bamboo printed chiffon dress from the S/S 10 show is one of them.
Greens and blues, navel deep v-neck, fastened at the crotch with a jewelled pin and then flared out to reveal jewelled knickers, ring a bell? Thought so.
Compared to a lot of other dresses that will probably end up as in my imagination forgotten garment world his particularly dress was immediately worn by a range of celebrities, among others Jennifer Lopez.
This was off course a contribute to the evergoing debate about celebrity endorsing in the fashion world that comes with all its' pro and cons according to brand image. Journalist Lisa Armstrong wrote that we consume celibrities as avidly as any drug and that certain designers have come to rely on tabloid images of celebrities to shift their garments off the rails.
Armstrong also nominated the Versace dress as Dress of the Year for the Bath Museum of Costume in 2000, instead of Hussein Chalayan's wooden table-dress, because she thought it represented a high-water mark in the current symbiosis between fashion and celibrity.

And about the celebrity endorsing, I am well aware of it but I don't consider myself to have the authority to completely trash it. I just know that I don't like when they put Cheryl Cole on the cover of a magazine and call her a fashionista or a style icon.

SUNDAY ROAST
These questions won' get me charcoal grilled, but it puts me in the movement of heat (of a library where the scanner is making unbelievable noise, feel that temperature?).
Today's:
Mood: Sunday calmness.
Should do: Research photographers and UK fashion and media market.
Hair do: Straight, detangled and newly washed.
Dress: Converse, black ribbed stockings, grey washed denim skirt, leopard printed singlet, red, blue and beige boy's college jacket and green parkas.
Plans: Research photographers and UK fashion and media market.
Material craving: A brown(not too sure about the exact nuance yet) bag of medium sized able to squeeze in under the arm but still fit my books, notepads, water bottle, pens etc.
Missing: Heat, warmth. My house is cold.
Contemplating: When to have dinner.
Addiction: Co-op's tripe chocolate cookies are one of the most delicious things I tasted since I first had Nando's.
Most dull: My hair, if the colour is fading.
People: Totally hooked on Gossip Girl now, watching both second and third season at the same time. Blair Waldorf is my favourite at the moment and Dan and Vanessa are really getting on my nerves.
Funniest: Samantha in Sex and The City when they are in Mexico, going out for dinner for the first time since Carrie pleased to dig out of her mexicoma and a tabkle orchestra shows up playing flamenco and the other three just hates it but Samntha totally shines and dig with the headshake and smile.

ONE KIND OF A CELEBRATION
Last year it was Madonna, Prince and Michael Jackson who turned 50, half way to hundred. This year was Barbie's.
I remember playing in my room with her (Barbie), she was the grandmother, Midge her daughter, who was married to not Ken but the dark haired guy, Skipper was the teenage daughter and the got like eight other kids, I liked big families.
Though being tired of playing around with them in their house, I dressed Midge (she was most beautiful) up in sequin evening dresses, pink tops and dotted skirts, western boots and neon heels.
The dressing up of Barbie and her likes has today been taking to a whole new level. In New York this February Barbie had her own catwalk show which opened with a look designed by Rachel Roy who was inspired by the first Barbie made in 1959.
Said that she's every girl's first fashion muse was proofed by Anna Sui: “I realized one of my childhood dreams when I created an Anna Sui Barbie doll for Mattel. It was really like the ultimate little girl’s fantasy." I had grown up making clothes for my dolls, and of course, I always loved dressing Barbie.”
But a catwalk show is not enough, at least not for Barbie who also got Christian Louboutin making shoes for her.
The designer will make three customized dolls inspired by Nefertiti and Marilyn Monroe will also include some physical changes. “She needed great shoes, a thinner ankle and, to me, as I’m obsessed with feet, a foot more curved,” the designer proclaimed.
The three dolls, packaged in Louboutin shoe boxes, each accompanied with four pairs of Barbie-sized Louboutin's will be sold through barbiecollector and Net-a-porter for $150.
Maybe I should set that barbie house of mine up again, or at least dig out the closet, Barbie needs those neon yellow pumps replaced.

BLONDE? FUNCTIONAL? MINIMAL?
Headline is kind of what connotations one makes with Swedish fashion. Since me being from Sweden know that isn't true I'm quite happy that the exhibition Swedish Fashion: Exploring a new identity is touring the world i.e saving me to tell the EVERYONE the truth.

WONDERLAND
One of my favourite photographers is Tim Walker because of his utterly talent to bring fairytales alive, or as he puts it: "Turning funny daydreams into funny photographs."
He do this by confessing to have had a very happy childhood and most of the time to live in an imaginary world.Well, the stunning sets and the juxtaposition of the everyday, absurd and enchanting certainly evokes an unique beauty.
This was the checklist for one of his shoots:
"20 ballerinas, 17 'mirrored' geese, 250 ostrich eggs (sprayed gold), a box of giant plastic hands, a room full of white umbrellas, 20 Christmas trees, a wolf's head-and-feet costume, a giant pumpkin, fake silver armour, a horse (also sprayed gold), hundreds of 'Arabian Nights' oil lamps, and racks of dresses, costumes and ballerina tutus,"-It do creates images of textured nuances and intriguing details.

YOHJI YAMAMOTO'S BANKRUPTCY
Yohji Yamamoto, the Japanese clothing designer filed for bankruptcy on the 9th October. The recession has impacted sales and left the fashion house with debts of £42m.
The investment firm Integral Corporation has signed a deal to sponsor Yohji Yamamoto and will inject cash and assist with management resources. Intergral's Yoshihiro Hemmi will become chairman of the fashion house's board.
Yohji Yamamoto's s/s 10 collection was shown in Paris on 2nd October. As always it featured a lot of excuisite draping and lack of colour, crispy whites and cole black dominated.
